| Point B Promotes Mike Pongon to Managing Director in Portland
06.27.05 Local project leadership firm appoints rising consulting star to top executive post PORTLAND, Ore. — Point B Solutions Group, LLP, a professional services firm specializing in project leadership, announced today it has promoted Mike Pongon to managing director. With the promotion, Pongon becomes only the sixth associate at Point B to hold this executive role and the firm's only managing director outside its Seattle office. "Mike is without a doubt one of the brightest stars in the consulting field," commented Tim Jenkins, who co-founded Point B in 1995 to help companies successfully complete their most important projects. "This promotion signifies the instrumental role that Mike has played in helping to establish Point B's reputation as Portland's leading provider of project leadership services. It also reflects the rapid growth we're experiencing locally, as well as across all of our practice areas," he continued. Point B has practices in Seattle, Denver and Phoenix, in addition to Portland, which Pongon joined in 2001 and where he has served as practice director since 2002. Under Pongon's direction, Point B has expanded its revenues by an average of more than 110 percent annually and by some 620 percent total over the past four years. To meet rising demand, Point B is hiring six to 10 new associates over the next few months in an effort to double its current staff in Portland. Point B is seeking associates with five to 15 years in the profession and who have a successful track record in solving complex problems for organizations of various types and sizes. In his new role, Pongon will continue to provide leadership in the areas of service delivery and associate development in Portland while he assumes new responsibilities in strategic planning and execution across Point B's four practice areas. Pongon has broad leadership experience in finance, operations, and technology-related projects, and has successfully managed systems and process improvement initiatives in a variety of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, retail, government and high-tech. Prior to joining Point B, Mike was a project manager for DBM Systems, a consulting firm focused on implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and related solutions for distribution and manufacturing companies around the world.
