Experienced leaders tapped to meet growing demand in Western markets

02.05.2010 — The employee-owned management consulting firm Point B has selected Rick Warter to become its San Francisco practice director, effective immediately.

Warter opened the Denver practice for Point B in 2003 and has since grown it to become the second-largest in the firm behind Point B’s headquarters in Seattle. Despite the recession, Point B added more clients and projects nationwide in 2009 and expects demand to grow in its Western markets. The firm is known for helping clients to turn their strategies into business results and create transformational change.

“We have been fortunate in maintaining strong relationships with our clients throughout this challenging economic downturn,” said National Practice Director Paul Lambert of Point B. “We see a significant opportunity to grow our San Francisco practice, and adding Rick’s leadership will allow us to better serve businesses in the Bay Area.”

As Warter transitions into his new role, Tim Larson becomes the practice director in Denver charged with practice strategy and operations. Jan Mueller will continue to serve as senior director with responsibility for client service and associate development.

Rick Warter will bring deep leadership experience to San Francisco, along with expertise in telecommunications, high technology and healthcare. Before joining Point B, Warter filled management roles at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), AT&T Wireless Services and Oracle Corp. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. The Denver Business Journal also named him one of the “40 Under 40” business leaders to watch.

Tim Larson joined Point B in 2003 and has been an integral part of growing the Denver practice. Prior to Point B, Larson served Accenture, GE Capital and Level 3 Communications. He has more than 20 years of experience leading projects in the telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing and construction industries. He holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from the University of Colorado and a master’s in business administration from San Diego State University.
