New Avenues for Youth (NAFY) in Portland offers programs and services that empower homeless youth to exit street life. Point B’s Portland office has supported NAFY in a variety of ways since 2011.
Through our pro bono program, Point B led the strategic and annual operating plan development, as well as performed organizational assessments with the executive leadership team to identify opportunities and options for organizational re-alignment.
We also helped build the organization’s new social purpose enterprise business startup, NAFY INK, a new screen printing business to employ homeless and at-risk youth.
Over the years, Point B has facilitated and supported the annual all-day strategic board of directors’ retreat and participated in the annual Winemaker Dinner fundraising event.
The firm’s current efforts are focused on helping NAFY establish a strategic non-profit partnership with Bridge Meadows, a multi-generational housing unit in north Portland. This will connect seniors, foster and adoptive parents, children and at-risk youth. It’s an innovative solution that will provide stability to young people who often lack social networks.
Lisa Shim, senior associate with Point B, serves on the NAFY board of directors and the finance committee.
Point B is also a financial supporter and continues to be a silver sponsor for NAFY’s annual Legends of Comedy fundraiser that has featured notable guests like Martin Short, Lily Tomlin, Jay Leno and Bob Newhart.
Point B brings the same discipline to supporting our communities as we do any of our client’s business challenges, with the full alignment of our resources to deliver truly positive results.
