Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) has been a foundation at Point B since 1995, and we’re continuing on our journey to bring more listening, more understanding and more structure to every part of EDI at our company. We’ve learned that, through action, we can become a place where every person finds opportunity, acceptance and, ultimately, a home to become their true selves.
Point B will not stand for systemic racism, inequity or injustice. Anywhere. We are committed to being and acting for others. We are committed to listening, learning, understanding and taking tangible action to create change.
Point B thinks about EDI holistically, with a firm focus in the following areas:
We want our company to represent the places where we work. We’re building towards increased Black and Latinx representation among Point B associates, while setting supporting strategies for LGBTQ+, veteran and disability diversity dimensions.
We’re taking tangible steps – including membership in the CEO Action Committee, a BIPOC sponsorship program, understanding and better capturing exit interview themes and creating goals tied to diagnosis, progress and ROI metrics – to increase representation of all racial/ethnic minorities in Point B leadership roles.
Through supplier diversity programs, sponsorships, pro bono work with social justice organizations and minority-owned business, and board memberships, our teams aim to make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.
Taking a Stand – Inside and Out
In 2018, our leadership took an EDI important step when Point B’s CEO, Mike Pongon, joined the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Coalition. In doing so, he signed its simple but powerful CEO Pledge to:
- Create and expand unconscious bias training.
- Share best practices.
- Create an environment that is open to dialogue about diversity and inclusion.
In 2020, Point B’s Lauren Wilkins became one of 250, full-time CEO Action for Racial Equity fellows and will help advance racial equity in the communities in which we live and work through public policy and process.
The people of Point B have built six Business Resource Groups to help us move forward on our EDI journey. These resource groups create communities of advocacy for associates and bring forth new ideas and opportunities for learning from and understanding each other. Our current Business Resource Groups include:
