Spencer Chan Named 2024 Top Consultant in Diversity by Consulting Magazine

As a tenured consultant and co-founder and leader of ARISE, Point B’s Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Middle Eastern (AAPIME) employee-led business resource group, Spencer goes beyond for others by increasing their visibility and supporting their personal and professional efforts. And, for both his world-class customer delivery and commitment to inclusivity, he’s been named a Diversity Champion as a 2024 Top Consultant by Consulting Magazine.
During the pandemic, anti-Asian rhetoric and violent acts became commonplace. The rise and reverberations of these acts led to informal gatherings of AAPIME employees at Point B, leading to the formal establishment of ARISE, a group that exists to create a supportive and uplifting community for AAPIME associates, and empowers them to lead and educate the organization about their cultures and experiences.
Under Spencer’s leadership, the group meets monthly to provide a psychologically safe environment for associates. Meetings topics have included everything from processing traumatic anti-AAPIME events outside of Point B to career-focused guidance.
Spencer’s efforts don’t stop there. He believes that recruiting and hiring diverse talent is just the beginning, working to ingrain it into the fabric of Point B's organization as a launching pad for opportunities that might not otherwise be available. He supports early-career professionals as a 1:1 manager and has also led DEI Manager training.
His consulting experience spans more than 2 decades. He recently managed the integration of a manufacturing system into a larger ERP system for a large pharmaceutical company, directly impacting the creation of a critical cancer treatment for patients.
Spencer is a proud Chinese American, husband, and father to his toddler daughter, and is a prime example of the positive impact diversity-focused efforts can have on an organization.
